Ohio's County Boards of Developmental Disabilities Services are facing new regulations from the federal government's Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  These rules will change the way they operate.

The new rules prohibit County Boards from providing case management and direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities who receive federal waiver funds.

As a result, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities determined that County Boards must phase out the following services:

  • Adult day support (currently offered at our Calumet, Jergens, Kuntz, Liberty and Northview Centers)
  • Transportation
  • Employment Services programs (job coaching, job placement, supported employment, community employment)

Individuals who currently receive such services from MCBDDS will need to seek programming from private providers.

MCBDDS developed a Plan of Action/Transition Plan to phase out these services.  For the most current updates, visit our CMS Transition Updates page.
