Effective January 1, 2016, MCBDDS will no longer admit new individuals -- including recent high school graduates -- into its adult services, transportation and employment services programs. Individuals who enter the system after November 20, 2015 will be directed to private providers exclusively. The only exceptions will be for individuals who reside in an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) that the Board is contractually obliged to serve.
By 2020, 70 percent of individuals already receiving federal waiver funds statewide for adult day services, employment services and transportation must be transitioned to private providers. By 2024, all County Boards must be in compliance with the federal government's Conflict-Free Case Management requirements.
