MCBDDS recognizes Champions for Change

DDS recently celebrated the impact and excellence of individuals with disabilities and those who serve them with its 2023 DD Hall of Fame and Erin Ritchey Memorial Awards luncheon. The ceremony, built around the theme “Champions for Change,” was held in person for the first time since 2019, and shared the stories of each champion via individual video features, each of which can be viewed on DDS’s YouTube channel. Those recognized included:

 DD Hall of Fame

  • Arts Award – Stephanie Pressel
  • Employment Award – Lauren Schooler
  • Personal Accomplishment Award – Steven Hazard

 Erin Ritchey Memorial Awards

  • Achievement Award – Jaykob Anstaett
  • Business Award – Flow Dry
  • Carl Day Volunteer Award – Andrew Shaffer, Sinclair Community College
  • Community Award - Jayne Klose, Dayton Metro Library
  • Direct Support Professional/Shared Living – Zontaye Richardson, On the Horizon, LLC
  • Direct Support Professional/Employment – Gloria Worthy, I Am Boundless
  • Direct Support Professional/Residential – Randy Clark II, Choices in Community Living
  • Educator Award – Laura Heitz, Kettering Fairmont High School
  • Erin’s Award (Parent Award) – Shana Anderson, Reeve’s T’s
  • Erin’s Award (Parent Award) – Reginald Johnson
  • Spirit Award – Jodi Stratton, retired DDS Service and Support Administrator
