This two-day class fulfills the requirements for initial Medication Administration Certification, Category 1.

This class meets the annual state requirements to enable DD personnel to utilize a VNS Magnet, administer an Epinephrine Auto-Injector, and use OTC topical medications for cleansing, comfort & protection of intact skin, hair, nails, teeth & oral surfaces.

This class meets the DODD mandatory training requirements for both initial orientation and annual renewals of Direct Support Professionals. Students will receive an additional certificate verifying 3 hours of the mandatory CEU’s required by the department (DODD). These CEU hours are also approved for the competency-based and longevity add-on.

Participants will get a card stating the successful completion of course curriculum in CPR valid for two years through the American Red Cross. This meets the required standard for Provider Certification through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Training includes the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
DODD’s Office of System Support & Standards (OSSAS) will offer monthly virtual provider trainings from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the last Thursday of the month. The LADD Innovative Technology Solutions webinar will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Brian Hart, LADD's Chief Strategy Officer, will share with the field information about their current Innovative Technology Solutions projects, including aspects of the smart homes they support, and how a variety of technology strategies and solutions is helping LADD and the people they support to move successfully into the future.
This class fulfills the requirements for initial Medication Administration Certification, Category 3 (Insulin). Attendees that become certified through this class will need their own delegating nurse for the actual oversight of the insulin administration; the trainer will not provide oversight.
